And that’s a wrap for the 2023 Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival events! Rocky Mountain Books partnered with the 10-day festival to inspire a community of outdoors lovers and bring mountain entertainment to Vancouver! RMB authors shared their fascinating stories with the audience and offered their professional expertise in adventure travel. For those who missed the events, here is a quick roundup of RMB at VIMFF!
Professional workshops by RMB authors

Frank Wolf, the author of Lines on Map: Unparalleled Adventures in Modern Exploration, gave an Adventure Travel workshop at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Vancouver. Attendees were plenty, and audience members learned how to better plan for their expeditions and how to fund these fantastic trips!
Meghan J. Ward, author of Lights to Guide Me Home, also offered an excellent workshop on adventure travel writing in which attendees honed their pitching skills to magazines and publications nationwide!
RMB stories told in person

To a full audience, Meghan J. Ward read some beautiful excerpts from her new book and shared her experience of being an Ontario girl turned mountain enthusiast. Photographer Daniel Fox, the author of Feel the Wild, MC’d the event that night!
Lynn Martel, the author of Stories of Ice, wowed the crowd with her glacier experiences at the Canadian Environment Show. It was remarkable to see how some of the glaciers she captured on camera 10 years ago have a completely different appearance today.
Michael Schauch, author of A Story of Karma, MC’d the event “Mind vs. Mountain” featuring Barry Blanchard.
Staffing the book booth

So happy I had the chance to promote our authors at this festival, and I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hi! Shout out to VIMFF for giving our authors a platform to share their stories, raise environmental awareness and spread the joy of adventure! We hope to see you next year – you won’t want to miss it!
