About the Author(s)

Gerry Shea’s fascination with mountains began at an early age, as he spent much of his youth hiking the hills around his home in Kamloops, BC. Years later, on a family vacation with his wife and young children, he discovered the splendour of mountain ranges in a variety of areas throughout the Columbia and Rocky mountains. During his many trips he has gathered knowledge and experience that he has since used to help beginning hikers, scramblers, and backpackers to trek safely. Gerry and his wife, Debbie, live in West Kelowna, and he continues to hike throughout the hills and mountains of BC and Alberta.
