Norman Collie

J. Norman Collie (1859 – 1942) began his impressive climbing career on the Isle of Skye, later making first ascents in the Alps and Caucasus and climbing with a British expedition in the Himalayas. Collie first journeyed to Canada in 1897, returning for further climbing adventures in 1898, 1900, 1902, 1910 and 1911, making 21 first ascents in the Canadian Rockies and naming many of western Canada”s major peaks.
