Howdy there! Keep reading if you’d like some quick RMB updates and to meet our new team members! Moving forward, we’ll be blogging about upcoming author events, sharing news about our books and giving some travel and reading inspiration!
It’s been another exciting and busy year at RMB. While we in the publishing industry continue to deal with some supply chain and production issues and delays, we anticipate 2023 to be slightly better in this regard in terms of printer availability, paper supply and distribution logistics, both domestic and international. We and our distributors (HGD in Canada and PGW for the international market) will continue to do everything we can to ensure that your books are regularly available to retailers and consumers.
In terms of staffing news, RMB art director Chyla Cardinal remains on parental leave as she celebrates the birth of her first child in spring 2022. We are looking forward to her eventual return in late 2023!
As well, Grace Gorman (email@example.com) has been promoted to Rights and Social Media Manager. Along with continuing to source prepublication “blurbs” for new books and managing RMB’s social media presence, she will now be overseeing foreign and subsidiary rights for all of our new and previous published titles.
In addition, I’m pleased to announce that Geneviève Nickel (firstname.lastname@example.org) has joined the company as Publicity and Events Coordinator for Canada. Geneviève comes to RMB with extensive experience as a journalist, a media analyst with Global Affairs Canada, a travel writer in Vietnam, and at a development NGO with projects in Uganda and Colombia. She replaces Jillian van der Geest, who has moved out of the publishing industry (though will remain as the producer of RMB’s podcast, Think Outside).
And finally, James Faccinto (Full Complement Communications, Los Angeles, CA) will be providing media and publicity services for select RMB titles in the USA in order to increase awareness for our books and authors beyond the traditional Canadian media and publicity landscape.
With an expanding publishing program, Grace, Geneviève and James will liaise with authors, sales reps, media and retailers in Canada, the US and the UK to raise the profiles of RMB books and authors in new and exciting ways. You can view RMB’s updated company masthead at rmbooks.com/about-us.
Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season from all of us at RMB!
