RMB | Rocky Mountain Books is looking for an energetic and experienced publicist to focus on Canadian publicity, advertising, and event coordination. We are hoping to find someone in Victoria, BC, but we are also willing to consider Canadian applicants who have a demonstrated ability to successfully work from anywhere in the world.

General duties and responsibilities:

  • Canadian media (excerpts, interviews, OpEds, press releases, review copies, tracking, etc.)
  • Communicate with sales representatives on a regular basis (Canada and USA)
  • Advertising (budgeting, designing, reporting, scheduling, tracking, etc.)
  • Promotional materials (eARCs, media kits, print collateral, swag, etc.)
  • Manage award submissions, events, festivals, and conferences

Education, qualifications, and experience:

  • Intermediate knowledge of Google (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, etc.) and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Interest in mountain culture, outdoor lifestyle, travel writing, and contemporary photography
  • Post-secondary graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and email management techniques
  • Collaborative, creative, detail oriented, organised, patient, and tech-savvy
